Actually, this helicopter is a 212, but is equipped with a 4-blade rotor. The Bell 412 had its maiden flight in 1981 and has better performance with less vibration and less noise than the Bell 212. Where performance is expected and reliability is absolutely essential, then a Bell 412 is normally used in place of the Bell 212.
